Memoranda

Relative Tide Times.

Quite a change of timing appears between the tide times along the stretch of our coastline, with surprising differences between some locations. e.g. whilst only a difference of ten minutes occurs between Wells and Mundesley, almost an hour occurs in the relatively short distance from Hemsby to Great Yarmouth.

Based upon Winterton, approximately the centre point of our vulnerable coastal area, here are those nominal differences, e.g solar/lunar related, not modified by any wind directions and velocity factors, nor by barometric pressure changes.

The nominal predicted tide times for Winterton can be found by visiting the BBC Weather Site at http://www.bbc.co.uk/weather/coast/tides/east.shtml and selecting Port no.144, Winterton-on-Sea.

An excellent weather systems site exists at the XC Weather site to be found at http://www.xcweather.co.uk/ This gives all factors, barometric pressure, isobars, wind velocities and conditions with a responsible forecast of up to five days ahead at all weather stations and weather buoys in the UK and near Europe.
